The REEL News from Puerto Vallarta and |
Where does the expression 'A Fish Tale' or 'A Fish Story' come from? Could it be that fishermen are prone to exaggeration? Perhaps they actually bend the truth about what they hooked but lost? With the advent of 'Catch and Release', the options are wide open. A 10-pound Yellow fin Tuna may FEEL like a 50 pounder, and in the water, it may even LOOK like one. And what is the exact definition of 'Catch and Release'? A lost fish is surely released so actually ANY hook up could be considered a 'Catch and Release' to some extent. The least accurate are probably the surf casters, those lone fisherman who stand on the beach and cast for hours without witnesses to their adventures. Can you ever believe a fisherman? Maybe not, but, we try to give you a fairly accurate account of what is happening in Puerto Vallarta each month and March had some very exciting charters for the small to medium sized species. |
March also hosted ski-break, spring break, semester-break, who knows what they call the Easter vacations anymore? So, lots of families arrived with small children and there were some very happy kids on the boats this month. Now, these young children are not to be confused with our Invasion Program, a group of about 4,000 high school students from all over who arrive en masse and weigh each dollar spent with the number of Corona they can purchase. Don't get me wrong, this is a well-supervised group with no bad intentions and they just want to have fun. Many of them would love to spend a day fishing but the cost of this pricey sport just makes no sense when compared to beer consumption. |

Phil may have reached new heights this month in his musical selections although we doubt that any of you are old enough to recognize them. But if just a handful of you get the gist then it is worthwhile. The rest of you will just be irritated by the music as always. Name that Tune! |
